Why Join?

The MCARC’s mission is to promote the amateur radio hobby here in Macoupin County.

• MCARC maintains a repeater on top of the Macoupin County Courthouse

• MCARC holds voluntary MONTHLY examiner (VE) testing sessions for the amateur radio license. Contact Lou Bartels K9LL

• MCARC holds classes for the licensing exams as well as 'hands on' classes for various aspects of ham radio

• MCARC facilitates and encourages Elmering(mentoring and education)

• MCARC holds a meeting each month that features a presentation related to ham radio

• MCARC occasionally facilitates field trips to visit organizations engaged in activities related to ham radio

• MCARC occasionally sponsors out of town guests (for travel & lodging as needed) who present ham radio programs during the monthly meetings

• MCARC provides communications support at public service events

• MCARC promotes fellowship and organizes social gatherings

• MCARC is affiliated with the ARRL: The National Association for Amateur Radio Link: ARRL K9MCE Page Link

• Our membership year runs from November 1 through October 31. Dues for new members are pro-rated by the fiscal quarter.
